Pon Pop: a launch film for a new Japanese juice
On a trip to Japan I met someone about to launch a local fruit soda. They needed a launch video with real charm and had no agency budget, so I made one with my AI-native motion pipeline, as a volunteer. It became the launch film that carried the brand into the Japanese market.

The brief
A brand-new drink with five flavours (white peach, melon, yuzu, mandarin and grape) and a founder I had only just met. The film had to feel native to Japan: playful, manga-flavoured and readable without sound, because most people would see it muted on their phones.
The idea
Open the can and the fruit bursts out. Each flavour gets its own colour world and its own character, the cans line up at the end and ask one question: which one is yours? Japanese on screen, English captions underneath, so it works at home and travels abroad.
How it was made
The cans and the fruit characters were generated and art-directed shot by shot, so the label never changed from frame to frame. Manga panels, type and every transition were built in my motion pipeline and cut to the beat of the track.
The result
It ran as the brand’s launch film and gave a new local drink an eye-catching way into the Japanese market, made by someone the founder had met a few days earlier, with no agency in between.
